Sonoma, Kids

Being Kohl’s largest private brand, Sonoma has a value of over a billion dollars. With that type of success, it only made sense to expand its Kid’s line into home goods. This product line is playful, modern, and whimsical. Working on this line extension was a lot of fun for me because it allowed myself and my partners to tap into our playful sides to create a line that not only appealed to our consumer, but something the kiddos would love too.

Logo / Packaging

When designing this logo lockup I wanted incorporate modern touches, while maintaining a fun and playful spirit. You can see this in the clean san-serif font that is tracked out, while the whimsy comes through in the poppy color palette and punchy "D". I wanted to choose non-gender specific colors that appealed to all little kids, but still stayed relevant to the products it would be on.

Photography

Something that not many people know, is that Kohl’s shoots the majority of the product photography in-house. When partnering with the Photo Studio team, we really had a vision we wanted to bring to life…down to the very last iron cast headboard. This set design and photography execution really ties in the marketing, product, and overall Sonoma Kids experience while maintaining the larger brand space.

FUN FACT: Most of the props you see in these photos, were hand crafted by our in-house stylists. This includes pieces like the hand sewn stuffed animals or wall art. All for the sake of creating the perfect Sonoma home environment.
